 Playing Sports: Be Ready and Stay Safe!

Playing sports is fun and healthy! Some sports use balls, some are in the water, and others take place in the mountains. But in all sports, it’s important to prepare your body, wear the right clothes, and be careful.

🏀 Ball Sports: Soccer and Basketball

Soccer is a sport where you kick the ball and try to score goals. Players run a lot and need to be fast. Before playing, it’s good to warm up with running and stretching. Soccer players usually wear a jersey, shorts, socks, and cleats. Some also wear shin guards to protect their legs. Be careful not to fall or get hit by the ball. You can twist your ankle or get a bruise.

Basketball is a game where you bounce the ball and shoot it into a hoop. You need strong arms and legs. Good warm-up exercises include jumping jacks and arm circles. Players often wear a tank top, shorts, sneakers, and sometimes a headband or wristbands. Watch out! You can fall when jumping or bump into other players.

🌊 Water Sports: Swimming and Surfing

Swimming is great for your muscles and heart. Before jumping in the pool, swimmers do warm-up exercises like arm stretches and leg kicks. Swimmers wear a swimsuit, goggles, and a swim cap to protect their eyes and hair. But be careful! If you swim too long, you can get tired. Never swim alone.

Surfing is riding the waves on a surfboard. It’s exciting, but also a bit hard. Surfers need balance and strong arms. They wear swim trunks, a rash guard, and sometimes water shoes. Some wear ear plugs to protect their ears. The ocean can be dangerous. Big waves or strong currents can make it hard to surf safely.

⛰️ Mountain Sports: Hiking and Climbing

Hiking is walking in nature, usually up hills or mountains. It’s great for your legs and lungs. Hikers wear comfortable pants, a t-shirt, boots, a hat, and sometimes a jacket. They warm up by walking slowly and stretching their legs. Be careful of slippery paths or sharp rocks. Bring water and a snack!

Climbing is a sport where you go up rocks or walls using your hands and feet. Climbers need strong muscles and good focus. They wear climbing shoes, pants, a helmet, gloves, and a jacket if it’s cold. Always check your gear. You can slip or get tired quickly.
